Help! My Skin Feels So Dry!
If your skin has been feeling extra dry lately, you're not alone! Over the past few weeks, many of my client's have been struggling with the effects of unpredictable weather—hot, cold, windy, wet—and the combination of aging, hormonal changes, and indoor heating can all leave your skin dehydrated and dull.
But don't worry, there are simple ways to keep your skin hydrated and glowing this autumn. Here are a few tips to help you bring the moisture back:
🎃 Stay Hydrated from the Inside
Drinking plenty of water is key to keeping your skin hydrated. Aim for at least 8 glasses a day to help maintain your skin's moisture levels from within.
🎃 Switch to a Richer Moisturiser
As the weather cools, your skin may need a more nourishing moisturiser. Opt for a rich, hydrating cream to protect and moisturise your skin.
🎃 Add Hydrating Serums
Incorporate a hydrating serum like hyaluronic acid into your routine. It attracts and retains moisture, leaving your skin plump and hydrated.
🎃 Avoid Hot Showers
As tempting as they are in cooler months, hot showers can strip your skin of its natural oils. Stick to lukewarm water and follow up with a rich body moisturiser to lock in hydration.
🎃 Use a Hydrating Mask Twice a Week
Treat your skin to an extra moisture boost by using a hydrating mask 1-2 times a week.
🎃 Gentle Exfoliation is Key
Exfoliating once or twice a week helps to remove dead skin cells, allowing your moisturising products to penetrate deeper. Be gentle—over-exfoliating can actually dry out your skin. Also avoid areas that maybe sensitive or where there is signs of rosacea.
